Calling upon their mystery-solving skills, they vow to find the ghosts and end the disruption. When they meet the owners of The Holdout Inn and find out about an ongoing feud the kindly couple is having with a developer who wants to turn the whole area into a resort pier, Velma ( Kate Micucci), Fred ( Frank Welker), Shaggy ( Matthew Lillard), Daphne ( Grey Griffin), and Scooby-Doo! (Welker) are intrigued.

Especially because Velma and Fred wanted to prove to their buddies that they're not always so serious. They're disappointed they so wanted to have some fun. They soon discover that the bash has been interrupted by the appearance of two pirate ghosts who've scared everyone away. But when they arrive, events aren't as advertised and the beach is empty. They head for the annual Blowout Beach Bash, three fun-filled days of partying at a beach resort.

In LEGO SCOOBY-DOO! BLOWOUT BEACH BASH, the Mystery Gang starts out looking for some well-deserved time off for fun. Lego continues to expand its tie-in with Warner Brothers (DC Comics, etc.), so the marketing effort must be reaping pretty substantial rewards for all involved. But, except for very young viewers, it's all within the limits of mild cartoon action and fine for those who understand the difference between pretend and real violence. Even within the limitations of the Lego forms, the animators provide some suspense and frights (a wild roller coaster ride almost scary-looking ghosts who glow crashes, swordplay, and chases).

The classic troupe (Fred and Velma - the brainiacs Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, the ravenously hungry and Daphne, the team-maker, confidence builder, and occasional fashionista) finds itself in the middle of a mystery and each brings individual personalities and skills to the story. Using the familiar voices of the Mystery Gang actors, it's a seamless transfer from animated characters to the little toy blocks. Parents need to know that Lego Scooby-Doo! Blowout Beach Bash is the second tandem release from Warner Brothers / Hanna-Barbera and the Lego toy company.
